Many Happy Returns to Jaya Ahsan

Today marks the birthday of Jaya Ahsan, one of the most prolific actors in the history of the country. She boldly quit the television industry while she was the most popular actor there, to transition into cinema.

With Guerilla, she proved her mettle, as her acting impressed everyone, and got her a national award. When Jaya moved away from television, a lot of people had said that it was a poor decision. However, the actor proved everyone wrong with her dedication and talent. At every turn in her career, she reinvented herself, with both critically acclaimed and commercially successful work.

Even as a producer, Jaya aced her first film, Debi. The film saw critical acclaim, and was also successful in the cinema halls. She is currently working on her new production, Furut, as well as acting in a new film titled Circus.

Jaya’s fame extends to the other side of the border as well, where she shines just as brightly. After Aborto, Jaya has subsequently gone on to star in many Kolkata films, including Bishorjon, which won her a prestigious Filmfare Award. Her last film in Kolkata was Kontho. However, she also starred in a web series titled Troiloko, directed by Arindam Sil.
