Pakistan sentences 28 to death in a month

Pakistan's army chief has confirmed death sentences for 13 militants, authorities said Monday, bringing the total executions ordered by secret military courts over the past month to at least 28.  Excluding China, rights group Amnesty International says Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Pakistan -- in that order -- carried out 84 percent of all executions in 2017.
