Macedonian MPs ratify name deal

The Macedonian parliament yesterday ratified a historic accord with Greece to rename the small Balkan nation the Republic of North Macedonia, clearing another hurdle towards ending a 27-year-long row between the two neighbours. The parliament's backing of the deal -- supported by 69 MPs in the 120-seat chamber -- smooths the way for a referendum to be held at a later date.
