Pakistan's duplicity exposed: India
India has blasted Pakistan's decision to allow Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed's party to contest in general elections, saying it "completely exposes" Islamabad's "duplicity" in acting against terror groups or terrorists.
A Pakistan court on Friday ordered the election commission to allow the registration of Hafiz Saeed's Milli Muslim League as a political party.
"I think this is a very shocking development which basically completely exposes Pakistan's duplicity in taking action against terrorist and terrorist groups," official spokesman of India's External Affairs Ministry Raveesh Kumar told the media on Friday evening.
"It seems that this is an attempt by Pakistani establishment to mainstream him, to mainstream his system as a political party," he said.
"I think the true face of Hafiz Saeed and true face of Pakistan is there for all to see," he added.
Saeed, who is accused of having masterminded the November 2008 Mumbai attack, was also placed on the terrorism black list by the United Nations in December 2008.
The banned JuD head was released from the house arrest in November last year after the Pakistan government decided against detaining him further in any other case.
