Transport workers go on strike in 2 northern dists
Transport workers in Thakurgaon and Panchagarh went on a strike for indefinite period from today demanding ban on Nasiman, Kariman, Bhatbhati and similar other vehicles plying highways and inter-district roads.
The leaders and workers of Transport Owners Association and Workers Union in of the two northern districts started the strike around 6:00am which put the people to an immense suffering there.
Transport owners and workers associations of the two districts announced the programme at 8:00pm yesterday.
Thakurgaon District Truck and Tang Lorry Workers’ Union also expressed their solidarity to the programme.
Movements of all modes of vehicles in the areas remained suspended while diesel-run three-wheelers and human haulers were resisted plying the roads by the protesters.
