Two schoolboys drowned in the Korotoa River in Bogra town while a four-year-old kid drowned in a pond in Pirojpur yesterday.
In Bogra, the deceased were identified as Abu Bakar Siddique Pavel, 13, son of late Zahidul Islam, and Mohaiminul Islam Anik, 15, son of Ainul Islam of Moglishpur, reports UNB.
Locals said, Pavel and Anik along with their friends went to take bath in the river around 11:30 am. At one stage, they slipped into deep water and drowned.
In Pirojpur, Dinami, 4, the only son of Razib Sheikh of Sheikhpara area in the municipality, drowned yesterday, reports our correspondent.
Family sources said, around 10:30am, Dinami fell in the pond near his house while he was playing nearby.
Later his body was found floating in the pond.
In Bhandaria upazila, a schoolboy was electrocuted early yesterday.
The deceased was Rabiul Islam, 14, a class eight student at Dhawa High School and son of Badsha Hawlader of Dhawa village in the upazila.
Family sources said, when Rabiul climbed a betel nut tree he came in touch with an electric line there. He fell from the tree and later died.
