Microsoft Day Celebrated at Bangladesh
Microsoft Day 2014 was celebrated on Saturday the 27th September at BCS Computer City, IDB Bhaban, Dhaka. Microsoft Bangladesh Country Manager, Sonia Bashir Kabir spoke about Microsoft products and how important it was to “embrace genuine” in enabling local innovation to flourish. She said, “We the people of Bangladesh are proud of who we are and are going to pave the way for the future of technology in our country. We have a big population and we will do what is right for us as individuals and for our country. Join us in embracing genuine – BE GENUINE, BUY GENUINE.”
Sonia Bashir Kabir requested the visitors to become ambassadors of the “Be Genuine, Buy Genuine” initiative. She also shared with them how Microsoft is transforming as a company.
Twenty Five apps launched by the government to serve the citizens
Last Wednesday at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) office in Agargaon a press conference was held to formally launch 25 apps developed by the Bangladesh government in association with MCC and EATL. The ceremony was titled “Jonogoner Aro Kache” and State Minister of ICT Division Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present at the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak said at the conference “The government determined to deliver a wide range of information and services to the people of Bangladesh through Mobile applications. “Among the 25 applications that is launched, there is – Right to Information Law, Driving License Information, BHBFC Loan Calculator, Nazrul Academy, Dhaka Zoo, Government Services, Copyright Law, Archaeology of Bangladesh, Public Library, Textile Calculator, Prize Bond, FDC, Bangladesh National Stadium, Constitution of 72, Hospital Finder, Drug abuse and Youth Offences, Immunization Alert, Insect Control of Crop, Roof Gardening and many others.
