Swedish minister Isabella Lövin due today
Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation Isabella Lövin will arrive in Dhaka today to launch the six-year long Swedish Strategy for Development Cooperation in Bangladesh.
The new strategy focuses on support to four main areas -- good governance, inclusive growth, health, environment and climate change.
“The strategy means that Sweden intends to continue its excellent relations with, and long-term support to Bangladesh,” said a press release of the Swedish embassy in Dhaka yesterday.
During her three-day long visit, Lövin will meet representatives of the Bangladesh government as well as representatives of the civil society and private sector.
She will visit development projects funded by Sweden and make a field visit to Khulna division to study efforts for climate change adaption.
