South Africa won the nerve-breaking game against New Zealand by 2 runs in a Group 2 match of World T20 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong today.

Jean-Paul Duminy was awarded the Man of the Match award for his outstanding helming performance of 86 runs off only 57 balls, garnished with 10 boundaries and three sixes.

Proteas speed demon Dale Steyn picked up 4 wickets for only 17 runs, became a great miser in the last over of the innings.

Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson scored 62 and 51 runs respectively for the Kiwis.

Earlier, Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum won the toss and elected to field first.

Despite the quick fall of top-orders, South Africa scored a competitive 170 runs.

Opener Hashim Amla also assisted the innings with 41 runs off 56 balls while the other top-orders collapsed.

Kiwi fast bowler Tim Southee picked up two wickets with an obese economy rate of 11.50.

Returning to the field from a hamstring injury, South African skipper Faf du Plesis scored only 13 runs, batting on the first-down.
