Siddikur slow, but steady
Bangladesh's premier golfer Siddikur Rahman got off to a topsy-turvy start in the SMBC Singapore Open, finishing with a score of one-over-par as the first round was suspended due to fading light yesterday.
The 32-year-old will have the opportunity to improve his score as he takes to the course to for seven more holes of the first round today at the 7,398 yard Sentosa Golf Club course.
His current score sees him sit in 89th position, seven strokes behind the leading trio -- Japan's Satoshi Kodaira and Hideto Tanihara and South Korean Kyungnam Kang, who are tied for first with scores of six-under-par in the US 1,000,000 dollar event.
Starting off on the back nine, Siddikur carded consecutive bogeys on holes 12 and 13, before bringing the score back to par with consecutive birdies on holes 16 and 17. However, he hit another bogey on the 18th.
After the end of this event, there will an Asian Tour event in Myanmar from January 26-29, followed by the Bashundhara Bangladesh Open at the Kurmitola Golf Club from February 1.
