Consistent Mushy drives MSC
Mohammedan Sporting Club skipper Mushfiqur Rahim scored his third consecutive 50-plus score as his side notched a comfortable seven-wicket win over Legends of Rupganj in the Dhaka Premier League encounter at Fatullah today.
The match that was originally supposed to take place on Monday, but had to postponed by a day due to the sudden burst of rainfall on Sunday that left the outfield in an unplayable condition.
Batting first, Rupganj were bundled out in 49.3 overs for just 212. Spinners Naeem Islam and Naeem Islam Jnr scalped a total of six wickets, while Habibur Rahman chipped in with a three-wicket haul.
In reply, Mohammedan’s foreign recruit Upul Tharanga scored a 99-ball 71 and Mushfiqur posted an unbeaten 64-ball 51, to lead Mohammedan home with four overs to spare. Mushfiqur hit two sixes and three fours while Tharanga hit one six and seven fours.
