The Most Absurdly Paid Hollywood Actors of 2017
Sofia Vergara
For the second year in a row, the Modern Family star beats all other TV personalities with a total earning of $41.5 million, which is a whopping $14 million more than Jim Parsons, the highest-paid TV actor of 2017. This is an astounding accomplishment, especially considering the equal payment agreement many female actors have been emphasizing on recently. Vergara's success lies in multiple endorsements and affiliation with many big-shot companies; Pepsi, Head & Shoulders and Avon, to name a few.
Jim Parsons
Thanks to the equal payment agreement established by The Big Bang Theory cast, the main five actors of the show receive the same payment of $1 million per episode. Despite the same salary, Parsons has taken himself a step above his colleagues by endorsing with Intel and having a role in the Oscar-nominated film Hidden Figures, among small roles in other series. All these has put Jim Parson's earning at $27.5 million, ranking him as the highest paid TV actor of 2017.
Jennifer Lawrence
The highest paid actress in both 2015 and 2016 has fallen slightly out of grace in 2017, but she has still managed to bring in an impressive earning of $24 million, ranking her the third highest paid actress and the 17th highest overall. Of course, this was to be expected with no Hunger Games movies on the theaters, but with her upcoming films Mother! and Red Sparrow, we can expect Lawrence to get back to the top of the race.
Emma Stone
With $26 million, Emma Stone ranks as the highest paid actress among all the others in Hollywood. Unfortunately for her fans, that is still no more than #15 in the overall list. Even then, winning The Oscars for Best Actress has been more than an achievement for this young superstar, and her sheer potential has only shown how much further she can go. For Emma Stone, success seems to come naturally.
Mark Wahlberg
Topping the list of the highest paid Hollywood actors of 2017 and beating Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson by $3 million is the entertainment superstar Mark Wahlberg. Earning $68 million is no easy feat, but Wahlberg has made that possible by appearance in Transformers: The Last Knight as well as the upcoming Daddy's Home 2. This sudden rise has been seen as a surprise to many, mostly due to how poorly the Transformers sequel had fared. Nonetheless, movie reception aside, Walhberg's charisma has been more than enough to rake in the big bucks.
