Rana Plaza gets six month ban
The Supreme Court has banned the exhibition and screening of the movie 'Rana Plaza' for six months. The movie is based on the rescue of garments worker Reshma Begum, 17 days after the Rana Plaza collapse in Savar on April 24, 2013.
Supreme Court Justices gave the order based on a plea by the chief of the Bangladesh National Garment Workers League. The 137-minute film produced by Shamim Akhter and directed by Nazrul Islam Khan got the Bangladesh Film Censor Board clearance on July 16 and was scheduled to be released on September 4.
