Aggronymph
How did Aggronymph come together as a band?
It was one of those spontaneous things that one can have. 2 weeks before Aggronymph was formed, we did not know that we were going to be playing together. Biothores had just broken up the first day Ratul joined Aggronymph. Me and Shurovi wanted to try out playing Gothic Metal Music and called in Ratul, who was also interested in the idea. We listened to to Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, The 69 Eyes and also late 90s bands like HIM, Evanescence, Opeth, Katatonia, Nightwish and so on. As we had mutual interests in music, we decided to form a band together.
Who are your inspirations?
We grew up admiring whatever music we could find around us that had guitar and drums in it. The idea of heavy music was much different to us before we started playing guitar and may we say, discover Metal. We are heavily influenced by Metal Music, Symphonic-Black metal, Melodic-Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Power Metal, Nu Metal…. we love them all. We also tend to fuse Electronic Music with Metal thus we must also mention that we like Electronic Music. Everything that we ever listened to had basically fused into the kind of music that we play today.
Tell us about your songs.
Our songs are basically of very simple format, the regular verse chorus is the code. The gothic metal elements are in the lyrics, which are very negative and depressive, and of course in the music. The Chord progressions we use are conventional minor scale chords. We tend to make our songs sound sad, gloomy, ambient, and atmospheric but also sometimes uplifting in a "Metal" way of course.
When is your album coming out?
We have released 2 Albums & 2 EPs previously, and we are now recording our 5th album. We are hoping to be done with the next release by 2017.
What can we expect from Aggronymph in the future?
The future is uncertain but we hope to be able to go on making albums for as long as we are together as a band, and of course play as many live shows as possible to achieve a bigger audience!
