Shirin Sharmin becomes Speaker again
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has been re-elected as the Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad for the second term while Fazle Rabbi Miah was made her deputy.
Chaudhury, a lawmaker from Rangpur-6 constituency, was made Speaker at the beginning of the first session of the 10th parliament this evening.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Awami League Parliamentary Party (ALPP) at a meeting nominated Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury as the Speaker of the 10th parliament.
Shirin was elected uncontested as a lawmaker from Rangpur-6.
She was the Speaker of the ninth parliament after speaker Abdul Hamid became president following the demise of President Zillur Rahman.
