Mother's Day Celebration at Oxford International School
Oxford International School (OIS) celebrated Mother's Day on May 11 at its Gulshan campus. Mothers of the students were invited on the day. Students along with their mothers and teachers gathered at the multipurpose hall of the school to celebrate the day. Vice Principal of OIS Gulshan Campus, Kazi Nasrin Siddiqa, along with teachers and mothers inaugurated the celebration. Later students and teachers participated in a colourful cultural programme.
Symposium on Career Development at UAP
Career Development Club, Department of Business Administration (DBA) of University of Asia Pacific (UAP) recently organised a symposium on development for future world. Robert Gibson, British High Commissioner in Bangladesh, attended the programme as chief guest, while Bibi Russell, internationally acclaimed fashion designer, was present as special guest. The symposium was chaired by Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor of UAP, while Tim Steel, a marketing and communications specialist, was the moderator. A good number of students, faculty members and entrepreneurs attended the programme.
SEMINAR AT DAFFODIL INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
Department of Environmental Science & Disaster Management (ESDM) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organised a seminar titled, “Innovative Green Brick Technology: Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation” on May 26 at DIU auditorium.
Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU, was present as chief guest at the seminar, while Professor Dr. M. Mizanur Rahman, Head, Department of Environmental Science & Disaster Management, presided over it. Professor Mahbub Hasan, Executive Director, Engineering Resources International (ERI) presented the keynote paper at the seminar, and Rezwana Khan, student of ESDM conducted the seminar. Speakers at seminar emphasised on the need to introduce innovative green technology in order to protect environment and develop our economy.
Three-day film fest at Stamford University
A three-day film festival, titled “Film Fest-02” was held at the Siddeswari Campus of Stamford University Bangladesh on May 12. Eminent architect Professor Ali Naqui and filmmaker Masiuddin Shaker inaugurated the festival. On the second day, filmmaker Nurul Alam Atik exchanged views with young filmmakers. Noted filmmakers and educationists, Manzare Hassin Murad, Matin Rahman and Professor Syed Anwarul Huq spoke on the occasion and handed over trophies to the winners. Mehrab Jahid was adjudged the best director for his short film “Rangin Juta” while Rawan Shami was selected as the best photographer for the short film “Burning Dust.”
