Unity for constitutional rights: Dr Kamal
Eminent jurist and president of Gonoforum, Dr Kamal Hossain today said people irrespective of political division will have to unite for basic and constitutional rights.
“We as the owner of the country are not getting all the basic and other rights mentioned in the constitution,” he said at a discussion at Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium.
“We may have political difference among us. But nobody will differ on this issue that rule of law, peoples security of life has to remain in the country,” he added.
Democratic Lawyers Association of Bangladesh organised the discussion titled “Freedom of judiciary and present context” marking the constitution day.
November 4, 1972, the day of adoption of our constitution is considered as the constitution day.
“We got the constitution through sacrifice of millions of people. We have glorious past since the British rule that we got victory when we got united,” Kamal Hossain said.
“People’s united force is the strongest power. None can deprive Bangalee from realising their rights. We must get success in the days to come like we had succeeded in the past,” he added.
