Movement if expectation not reflected in president’s talks: BNP
“We will take to the streets if Awami League’s expectation is upheld by the president,” Mosharraf said.
The BNP leader came up with the warning while addressing a programme at the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka this evening.
The BNP leader also said that his party is waiting to see the decisions taken by the president. “We’re waiting to see what the President [Abdul Hamid] does.”
Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh, a pro-BNP platform of physicians, arranged the programme marking BNP founder Ziaur Rahman’s 81st birth anniversary.
About BNP’s stance, Mosharraf said they are showing patience as they want to send a message to all, both at home and on abroad, that the party is interested in resolving the political crisis through democratic manner.
“Don’t misunderstand us. It’s our sacred duty to restore democracy and people’s voting rights,” he said.
The BNP leader also alleged that the government wants to weaken BNP through repressive acts as it fears the party and the people.
