Khaleda takes iftar with orphans
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia today took iftar with orphan students and alem-ulema (Islamic scholars) on the first day of the fasting month of Ramadan.
The BNP chief hosted the iftar party at the city’s Ladies Club in the honor of the orphans and alem-ulema.
After entering the venue, Khaleda, also a former prime minister, exchanged pleasantries with the guests, including the orphans.
Over 200 orphan students from different orphanages in Dhaka and Islamic scholars attend the iftar party.
Prior to the iftar, a munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country and welfare of its people.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Jamiruddin Sircar, Tariqul Islam, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, among others, joined the iftar party.
