Deal with India will be betrayal: BNP
A security or military deal with India will be betrayal to Bangladesh and its people, BNP said today.
“People will thwart such anti-state deal,” BNP senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said today in a press briefing held at the party’s Nayapaltan office.
He was referring to the upcoming India tour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, where, according to reports, the two countries will sign security and military agreements.
“There have been newspaper reports that India is luring Bangladesh in with words of Teesta deal and instead will try to sign the India-Bangladesh military deal,” Rizvi said.
“Such a deal will threaten the sovereignty of Bangladesh,” he added.
“If those in power, who are sworn to serve the state, sign such a deal, it will be a betrayal to Bangladesh and its people. People will thwart such anti-state deal,” Rizvi said.
