BNP leader Hannan Shah passes away
“My father breathed his last at 5:37am Singapore time (3:37am Bangladeshi time) at Raffles Heart Centre,” said his son Rezaul Hannan.
On completion of all the formalities, the body will be taken back to home, the son said.
Hannan Shah was suffering from cardiac problems, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP chairperson's media wing, told The Daily Star.
He left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter, said BNP chairperson's media wing member Shamsuddin Didar.
The first namaz-e-janaza of Hannan Shah will be held in Singapore after Esha prayer today.
BODY TO BE BROUGHT BACK TOMORROW
Hannan Shah’s mortal remains will be flown into Dhaka tomorrow at 5:00pm. On Thursday, his first namaz-e-janaza in Dhaka will be held at Mohakhali DOHS mosque.
At 11:00am, a janaza will be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad – followed by another janaza near BNP central office in Nayapaltan after Zohr prayers.
On Friday, his body will be taken to Gazipur and buried in his family graveyard in Kapasia upazila after rounds of janazas, Sayrul Kabir told The Daily Star citing the family.
