Khaleda leaves Dhaka for London
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for London by a flight of Emirates Airline this evening for treatment in her eye and leg.
She left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 7:30pm along with her personal assistant Abdur Sattar and a caregiver Fatema, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of the BNP chief’s media wing, told The Daily Star.
During her one-and-half-month trip, the BNP chief will meet her elder son Tarique Rahman, who has been staying in London after one-eleven changeover in 2008, party sources said.
The BNP chief may meet some senior leaders of her party’s expatriate wing to discuss the country’s prevailing political situation ahead of the upcoming general election, party insiders said.
She is expected to return home after observing Eid with her family members there.
She is likely to unveil outline of the election-time supportive government after returning home, sources said.
The former premier went London for the last time on September 16, 2015 on the same purpose.
