Pakistan hope for semi
Pakistan kept their semifinal hope alive by winning a Group 2 Match of World T20 against Bangladesh by 50 runs at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today.
Ahmed Shehzad was awarded Man of the Match for his stunning ton.
Earlier, Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez won the toss and elected to bat first.
Opener Shehzad scored a marvelous blow of 111 runs off only 62 balls, decorated with 10 boundaries and five sixers.
Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi also assisted him with 26 and 22 runs respectively off 23 and 9 balls.
Slow left arm bowler Abdur Razzak picked up two wickets for the Tigers.
Mashrafe Mortaza and Ziaur Rahman were the expensive seamers for Bangladesh with economy rate of 15.75 and 22.00 respectively.
Also Pakistan availed 13 extra runs.
In reply to the Pakistani innings, Bangladesh batting-order managed to score 140 runs by losing 7 wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan was the top-scorer for the Tigers, put 38 runs to the board.
Pacer Umar Gul picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs while spinner Saeed Akmal picked 2 for 20.
Pakistan will face West Indies in the last league game as the winners of that match will join India in the final four from Group A.
