Workshop on fashion design at Goethe-Institut
A workshop on fashion design, titled “Ethno Fashion Workshop and Show” is on at Goethe-Institut, Dhanmondi in the city.
Alliances Française and Goethe-Institut have jointly organised the event, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Franco-German Élysée (Friendship) Treaty.
On the occasion, Alliances Françaises and Goethe-Institut organised a press conference at Goethe-Institut recently. Michel Trinquier, French Ambassador in Bangladesh; Chargé d'affaires of the German embassy in Dhaka, Dr Ralf Reusch; prominent fashion designer Bibi Russell; German fashion designer Michael Sontag; director of Alliance Française de Dhaka, Olivier Litvine; Director of Goethe-Institut, Judith Mirschberger; executive director of Getco, Abdul Majid Chowdhury and Rajesh Khajuria, GM Design, Aarong, were present at the press conference.
Internationally acclaimed fashion designers Michael Sontag of Germany, SakinaM'Sa of France and Bibi Russell of Bangladesh are conducting the workshop.
The participating designers are -- Nazia Afroz, Iffat Ara, Robaiya Haque Raka, Homaira Hasin Sadia, Tasmit Afiyat Arny, Kehkasha Sabah, Sifat Zaman, Yaana Nuzhat, Jarin Tasnim Ona and Md Hanif Kaiser.
Ethno Fashion is supported by Institut Français, the French Embassy, and sponsored by Montagut French Fashions Knitting Pvt Ltd, Aarong fabric and accessories and Getco,
and Farzana Shakil on makeover.
The workshop ends on June 6.
