Put Tarique on trial: Ruling alliance
Leaders of ruling Awami League-led 14-party alliance on Thursday urged the government to bring BNP leader Tarique Rahman back home and put him under trial.
They alleged Tarique had been hatching conspiracies against the country from London along with some of his 'cohorts' blamed for widespread correction during the last BNP-Jamaat tenure.
“Tarique left the country by giving undertaken that he would never become active in politics, but now he is planning to come back in politics,” Mohammad Nasim, a presidium member of the AL, told journalists after a meeting of the alliance.
The alliance held the meeting at the AL president's political Dhanmondi office in the capital.
They also demanded formation of a commission to investigate the killing of Col Abu Taher.
