Teacher suspended

A teacher of Boda Pilot Girls' School and College at Boda upazila headquarters in Panchagrh has been suspended following the allegation of sexual harassment of a female student of Class IX. 

According to the allegation, Abdur Razzak, an assistant teacher of the school, sexually harassed the girl on August 26 when she went to attend tuition at his house at Thanapara in Boda.

Returning home, the girl told the matter to her mother.

“Following a complaint against the teacher by locals last week, a meeting of the managing committee was held. The committee suspended him for six months and formed a five-member committee to investigate the matter,” said Rabiul Islam, headmaster of the school. 

Demanding justice, the girl submitted complaint to local lawmaker, deputy commissioner, superintendent of police and upazila nirbahi officer on Monday.

The accused teacher could not be contacted for his comment.
