Feamle UZ chairman removed

Jessore's Jhikargachha Upazila Parishad Chairman and member of BNP Central Committee Sabira Nazmul Munni has been removed from the post of the chairman after being convicted by a court in a graft case.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jahidul Islam said Ministry of Local Government Rural Development and Co-operatives recently issued a letter in this regard. The letter was forwarded to the UNO on Monday evening.

 On July 12, Dhaka's Special Judge's Court sentenced Sabira to six years' imprisonment in a case filed by Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) in Jessore.

In 2009, ACC filed the case for amassing illegal wealth worth Tk one crore 78 thousand 135.
