Amir Khasru skips ACC interrogation
BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury yesterday skipped Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) interrogation over graft allegations against him.
The BNP leader also sought one month's time from ACC for collecting the necessary documents in this regard.
The anti-graft watchdog granted his petition and issued a notice asking Khasru to appear at 10:00am on September 10.
“If you fail to appear on the scheduled date, actions will be taken against you as per the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004,” the letter said.
Earlier, ACC directed the BNP leader to appear before it on August 28 for interrogation.
A letter signed by Kazi Shafiqul Alam, director of the anti-graft watchdog, also asked Khasru to bring the necessary documents.
The commission received allegations that Khasru owns a five-star hotel but did not disclose it on his tax file.
There were allegations that Khasru laundered money abroad and amassed wealth without disclosing the sources of income.
