Dollar falls
The dollar fell against the euro on Wednesday as investors wait to see whether the US Federal Reserve will signal fresh action to tackle the economic downturn, traders said.
The British pound meanwhile took a knock on news that two million people were claiming jobless benefits in Britain for the first time in 12 years, they added.
In late morning London trade, the euro rose to 1.3034 dollars from 1.3013 dollars late in New York on Tuesday.
