Perpetrators to be brought to justice

Reaffirming her resolve, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday said the perpetrators would be brought to justice after quick inquiry into the massacre in the BDR headquarters.
She said this when bereaved family members of nine martyred army officers met the prime minister at her official residence Jamuna yesterday evening.
The officers are Col Shawkat Imam, Lt Col Lutfar Rahman, Lt Col Kazi Ruby Rahman, Maj Abdus Salam Khan, Maj Maqsumul Hakim, Maj Rafiqul Islam, Maj Kazi Ashraf, Maj
Azizul Hakim (missing) and Maj Gazzali (missing).
Hasina said the country suffered irreparable loss at the death of brilliant army officers in the February 25-26 carnage at the BDR headquarters.
“Such a loss, especially suffered by the members of the martyr families, cannot be compensated,” she said while consoling them.
She assured them of all assistance from the prime minister and her government.
The PM assured them of government's necessary assistance, including educational expenses of the children of the martyr families.
