AL men beat up Kendua BNP leader

A group of Awami League (AL) cadres attacked and injured a Kendua upazila BNP leader immediately after their release on bail yesterday, police and local people said.
Police said, Oki Mia, Shamim and Shahin of Horinagar village under the upazila were freed on bail in a criminal case yesterday.
Returning home the three AL activists called BNP leader Abul Hasem out of his home and attacked him with iron rods. They seriously injured his legs and hands following which Hasem was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kendua Police Station Ganendra Sikdar said the three attackers are activists of Kendua upazila AL and they attacked Hasem as a sequel to previous enmity.
A case was filed with Kendua Police Station in this connection but none was arrested till filing of this report yesterday afternoon.
