Shab-e-Qadr tonight
Muslims across the country will observe the holy Lailatul Qadr tonight.
The holy Quran was revealed on this night.
Muslim devotees will offer night-long prayers at mosques, seeking divine blessings for themselves as well as the country and the Muslim Ummah.
They will also visit the shrines and graves of their relatives and offer special prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
President Iajuddin Ahmed and Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed gave separate messages on the occasion.
In the messages, the president and the chief adviser conveyed their warm greetings to the countrymen. They prayed to the almighty for welfare of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
Different religious organisations will hold discussions, doa and milad mahfils on the occasion. Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private TV channels will air special programmes highlighting the significance of the holy night.
