Manarat School to participate in Saarc school debate
Manarat Dhaka International School and College will compete for the national championship of seven other member countries of Saarc at the regional-level round to be held from October 24 in New Delhi.
Debater Saad Bin Amjad and Anam Hossain of Manarat School will fight for the championship. The regional round will be organised by the Rajib Gandhi Foundation of India.
Manarat School secured the championship of the four-day national round. A total of 24 schools of the country participated in the event last month.
Dhaka University Debating Society (DUDS) in cooperation with London Metropolitan University, UK, and Centre for Development Communication (CDC) organised the debate on the Dhaka University campus.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof SMA Faiz was present at the prize-giving ceremony as the chief guest yesterday and distributed crests among the champions.
DU Pro-VC Prof AFM Yusuf Haider, Principal of Manarat School ZRM Asraf Uddin and member of Londonmet Bangladesh Alumni Association Tanzim Anwar spoke as the special guests.
DUDS President Mofazzal Hossain Sumon was in the chair.
