3 JMB men arrested in Bagmara, Jhalakathi
The law enforcers yesterday arrested three militants of outlawed Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi and in Jhalakathi town.
They are Khorshed Alam, 25, Abdur Rashid Babu, 26, and Amjad Hossain, 48.
Khorshed and Rashid were arrested in Bagmara upazila while Amjad was arrested in Jhalakathi town.
Our staff correspondent from Rajshahi reported that the law enforcers, acting on secret information, arrested Khorshed at Koira village and Rashid at Sodapara village of the upazila.
"The arrestees took part in different operations along with Bangla Bhai in Bagmara upazila and are listed JMB militants in police book", said Mirza Golam Sarwar, officer-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station.
According to our Barisal correspondent, members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested JMB militant Amjad Hossain at a hotel in Jhalakathi town and recovered explosives from his possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-8 raided the hotel, Dhanshiri Resthouse, at station road at around 1:30pm and arrested Amjad with explosives and some electronic items.
Sources said the JMB militant had earlier visited the town twice and was staying in the same hotel.
Rab-8 personnel brought Amjad to their camp in Barisal town for quizzing.
