Tigers to stay in Mirpur
The Tigers practice will resume on Wednesday for next month's tri-series involving India and Pakistan.
The camp will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur instead of Bogra as the team management preferred to have it in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) earlier felt the necessity of the camp in Bogra to take the advantage of the floodlights, as the triangular tournament will be played in those conditions at Mirpur.
BCB's media committee chairman Ahmed Sajjadul Alam said that they changed their mind as they are hopeful about shifting the lights from Rajshahi to Mirpur by May 28.
"Bogra was our alternative venue. We will be able to practice under floodlights in Dhaka," said Sajjadul yesterday.
It is expected that the Rafiqul Alam-led selection panel will announce the 14-member team before the start of the full-fledged camp.
The team was supposed to be announced just after the completion of the Premier League but the selectors were taking time to find a suitable replacement for all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who kept himself away from the tournament to attend HSC examinations.
