Verdict in case against mayor Tayebur tomorrow

Additional District and Sessions Judge (4th court) Md Nazrul Islam will deliver judgement in the first extortion case against detained KCC mayor Sheikh Tayebur Rahman tomorrow.
On November 2 last year, SM Hafizur Rahman, suspended procurement officer of KCC's Municipal services project, filed the extortion case against KCC mayor Tayebur Rahman and KCC public relations officer Sarder Abu Taher. Taher has been absconding since filing of the case.
SI Keshab Chakravarty of Khulna Sadar Police Station, who investigated the case, pressed charge sheet to the court on February 13 this year.
Trial of the case began on March 9 in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Barakuzzaman.
The case was transferred on May 13 to the Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (4th court) on order from District and Sessions Judge Md Shafiuddin as Md Barekuzzaman felt embarrassed.
