Biman now relegated to Div II
Biman Bangladesh Airlines have been relegated to the Second Division Cricket League following their four-wicket loss to Surjo Torun at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium in a First Division League match yesterday.
Biman once were a dominating force in Bangladesh's domestic circuit -- they won the Dhaka Premier League title five times -- but have been struggling ever since they were relegated from the Premier Division in the 2011-12 season.
Biman's decline may be attributed to a decision by the management of the national flag carrier last year when it announced that they were not going to patronise any of their sporting outfits anymore.
Kathalbagan Green Crescent Club were the other team to be relegated following their two-wicket loss to Young Cricketers at the BKSP yesterday.
