Khaleda greets Cameron
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has congratulated the new British Prime Minister David Cameron, and assured to work closely with him and the UK government in achieving common goals of global peace, prosperity and socio-economic stability.
In a letter sent to Cameron on Thursday, Khaleda Zia said: “Please allow me to extend my heartiest congratulations on your assumption of office of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as a result of the remarkable victory of the Conservative Party in the just concluded general election.”
She said the relations between Bangladesh and Great Britain is historic, founded on shared values of democracy, freedom and human liberty. “Bilaterally, we look forward to working together to further strengthen our multifaceted ties for our mutual benefit.”
“I am confident Great Britain will achieve greater stability and progress under your dynamic leadership,” said Khaleda Zia, also leader of the opposition in the parliament, in her letter to the British PM.
