HSBC to build 200 houses for cyclone victims
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Ltd in Bangladesh will construct more than 200 houses and instal several deep tubewells for the cyclone victims in five villages.
The bank will also provide seeds, fertiliser and fishing and farming equipment to the people of these villages.
"With a budget in excess of Tk 1.1 crore, HSBC has commenced a three phased initiative with the support of local NGO, CAMPE," HSBC Bangladesh CEO Steve Banner said at a press briefing at Sonargaon Hotel yesterday.
