Man held with 3.2kg gold at Dhaka airport

Customs Intelligence officials arrested a man in possession of 28 gold bars weighing 3.26 kilogrammes from an Emirates Airlines flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital this morning.

The arrestee, Bahar (full name could not be known immediately), returned from Dubai by EK-582 around 8:30am, Mostafizur Rahman, deputy director of customs iIntelligence, told The Daily Star.

Bahar was carrying the gold bars worth around Tk 1.5 crore inside his shoes, the intelligence official said.
