Mahjabin committed suicide
Shamarukh Mahjabin, who was found dead in her in-law's house in the capital's Dhanmondi, committed suicide, said the autopsy report of Dhaka Medical College, which was received by police yesterday.
However, Nurul Islam, father of Mahjabin, rejected the report saying, “I said it earlier that the autopsy report would not be fair.”
He filed a murder case accusing his son-in-law Humayun Sultan, Humayun's father Khan Tipu Sultan, former lawmaker from Jessore-5; and his mother Dr Jasmine Ara.
Assistant Prof Sohel Mahmud of the forensic department of DMC told journalists, “We got the reports of all the samples, collected for the autopsy, and reached to a conclusion that it was a case of suicide.”
Mahjabin, 26, was found dead on November 13. Later, her husband Humayun was arrested and sent to jail. Humayun and his parents claim that she committed suicide.
