Lighting kills 4, injures 3 in Lalmonirhat

At least four persons were killed and three others injured by lighting at separate villages in Lalmonirhat on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Ashwini Roy, 55, resident of Tiperbazar village and Lutfar Rahman, 27, of Dhubni village in of Aditmari upazila, Bishnu Chandra,44, at Nawdabash village and Jaynal Miah, 40, of Shaikhsundor village under Hatibandha upazila in the district.

All the incidents took place around noon on Thursday, quoting the acting Civil Surgeon CS Dr Ahsan Ali Babu and police officials of the respective police stations, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.

The injured three persons are Fazar Ali, 45, Abul Hossain, 50, and Faridul Islam, 38, were admitted to Hatibandha upazila health complex, the correspondent said.

Meanwhile, a tax officer of Patgram municipality Jahangir Hossain, 43, died from heart attack hearing the loud sound of lighting at his home in Sahebdanga village of Patgram upazila.
