Musts for your purse
Summer is upon us and the degrees outside are rising exponentially but nothing can be done to avoid your daily work in the scorched summer noon. With the heat wave that has descended upon the country so brutally, it's crucial to carry the following items in your purse in order to beat the heat with ease.
Sunscreen - one can never overemphasise the importance of sunscreen. It must be applied 30 minutes before heading out and should be kept in the bag to be reapplied every 2 hours. You can also keep sunscreen spray of SPF 40 and above to spray on the hands, neck, and other exposed area.
Lip balm- your lips need protection as much as rest of the body. Make sure to carry a lip balm, like ChapStick or Vaseline, with SPF coverage, to prevent your lips from getting chapped or sunburnt.
Paracetamol/Napa - prolonged hours in the sun may give you severe headaches. Make sure to always carry paracetamol and other required medicine in your purse.
Glucose water or saline - the heat will cause you to sweat and this will lead to dehydration if you don't drink enough water. Sometimes, however, water simply isn't enough. That is why it is essential to carry glucose water or saline to replenish the loss of minerals and electrolytes from your body.
Wipes - your skin will sweat and will become sticky, so wipes are a must.
Non-perishable snacks - one must always carry some light bites in their purse, such as biscuits, granola bars, etc. Carrying snacks in your purse ensures a small intake of healthy food every few hours and also saves both your time and money since you don't indulge in junk food.
Shades - the harsh rays from the sun contain ultraviolet radiation that can be very harmful for the eyes during direct sun exposure. Hit the stores and purchase sunglasses to match your facial structure. Don't forget to always keep a pair in your purse.
Hand sanitiser - you shouldn't eat any food item before ensuring your hands are clean, so carry a small bottle of hand sanitiser all the time.
Hairbrush - the summer heat and humidity can be unbearable for your hair, causing it to become frizzy and sticky. Use a hairbrush to tame messy hair while you are out.
Aloe vera gel - last but not least, aloe vera gel acts as a cooling agent. This will keep your skin refreshed after an entire day out in the sun.
Ensuring you have at least some of these items with you while you are out will make your day so much better, and will prepare you for whatever plans you may have in the unrelenting heat, allowing you to spend more time outdoors with friends and family!
