Colour trends
Thinking of giving your old house a new shine? Or maybe the plain old walls are suddenly too dull and you want to give it a new look to brighten up and personalise? In any case, a new colour for the interiors is a thing which leaves many people baffled – just the scope of the colours available is sure to make one confused. So that you don't end up baffled, here are the top trends for interior colours for 2015.
Blue seems to be a favourite from many designers this year. "The blue of the Mediterranean, and the tops of the churches in Santorini" as described by one – blue brings out a classy and casual look that is not overly formal and makes the interior seem homely. This includes the classic electric blue to a more vibrant mixture of blue with sour green. For something a little rustic, 2015 runways also predict shades like olive and orange making a comeback.
Going beyond, the eighties pastel looks are also trending. Optimistic communications of "orange and purple sunsets, green palm trees, aqua pools, and pink flamingos" sounds rather nice. Combined with muted palettes, this trend should be big for the year.
For those with a darker and more sombre taste, greys and neutral shades are in. Contrast of soft grey walls and ceilings and dark gray doors is the right balance to give the interiors a cool, dark look. Another predicted trend for interior colours for the year is the use of olive greens. A shade which is both warm and is a potential combo with most other colours, olive green, is a crowd favourite.
Bright colours are big this year, so warm, cosy colours are a choice for living rooms while more eccentric combinations of blue, orange and the likes can make children's rooms fun. For a more conservative approach go for dulled shades of gray, brown, teal and blue.
This is just a guideline of what's in. Finally, the choice is yours. Interior colours are there to stay, at least for a while. So play around, and browse before you make your decision. No matter what the trend, it depends on your personality. Pick wisely and colour up your lives.
