MYTHICAL MIND PAINTING EXHIBITION BY A R RUMY
Date: Tuesday, August 16 to Friday, September 02
Venue: La Galerie, Alliance Francaise
In the words of the artist, "Our tormented and turbulent society is going through an agonised phase. It lacks wisdom, direction, vision, morality, and humanity; whereas our past holds our experiences, knowledge, inspiration, and profundity. I see myself as a lonesome diver into my scarred soul and from there I create and dissolve the unreal boundaries between the past, present and future.'
The exhibition of artworks by Rumy hopes to present a reality with which the viewers may joyfully infuse and see the completeness and openness between the boundaries of division, diversion and diversity.

EMK MOVES PRESENTS: ISOLATION - A DANCE EXPLORATION OF THE HUMAN BODY
Date: Saturday, August 20
Time: 7-9pm
Venue: EMK Center, Midas Center Building (9th Floor) House#5, Road#27 (old) Dhanmondi
The show will present concepts of six young choreographers; the elements they worked with were tied to the human body through its 'isolation'. A crucial aspect as it is, the human body's inevitable choice of becoming isolated both cognitively and bodily through growth and age is a belief mostly unnoticed. Other themes they explored were limitations to bodies, the point of which bodies seize to commute, the longings to be heard, and the overcoming of cultural and social barriers.
The dancers wanted to collectively put together their own ideas and renditions of bodily movements and provoking thoughts to put a 35 minute presentation. The performance aims to evoke the semblance of 'isolations' within ourselves, and within our minds.
An interactive, dialogue session will follow the performance.
Tickets: Priced at Tk 100 will be available at the venue.
