Floral freshness for festivities!
Flowers are nature's most magical and valuable gifts, and summer's endless bounty of floral freshness leaves one spoilt for choice.
For Eid this year, household décor is incomplete without fresh flowers. Fragrant beauties such as lilies, tuberose, gladiolus and hydrangeas add instant whimsy and freshness to any space. When arranged in a wide-mouthed vase, these beauties radiate warmth and add a festive fervour to any room.
With large flowers make sure they are kept uncluttered; do not add other flowers or details. Medium and small flowers such as roses, carnations, zinnias and gerbera bring happiness and their perfumed vitality brings a room alive. The best thing about these flowers is that they can be arranged in whichever way one's heart fancies. Different kinds of flowers can be brought together to form a beautiful ensemble that is unlike any other.
While flowers are indispensible for home décor, why should one stop there when there is so much fun to be had with nature's bounty? A fresh rose tucked behind the ear lends its wearer a touch of bohemian whimsy, and its perfume envelopes her with a natural fragrance synthetic ones can never impart. Adding a floral touch to your Eid ensemble will set you apart in a crowd as you mesmerise onlookers with a whiff of pure, unadultered freshness.
A string of beli phool, the perennial favourite of Bengali belles that has inspired poets and musicians alike for eons, is perfect for this time of the year. Skip the bangles and bracelets and wrap a few strings of beli around your wrist, or around your khopa for instant sweetness of floral scent that will enamour you all day long. Push in a fragrant rose into your summer bun, or a few zinnias in your braid for a flower child look that is sure to set you apart from everyone else. Carnations will also look pretty and sophisticated when worn in the hair.
This Eid channel a bit of whimsy and add a flower effortlessly on you, and leave onlookers spellbound in your fragrance!
