Ban on cow export
The BSF has been directed by the Indian home minister to stop the smuggling of cows to Bangladesh so that the price of beef goes up and the people of Bangladesh stop eating beef. How foolish and what audacity he has! People eat beef all over the world. Would Rajnath Singh say the same about the people of a European or American country?
Nowadays, a few political parties of India like BJP, RSS, VHP, etc. have turned the issue of cow smuggling into a religious and political issue. Are cattle more important to them than impoverished farmers? Indian farmers will be required to spend an additional Rs 31,000 crore annually for cow fodder. Where will the money come from? In a true democratic country, every citizen's right to food and other freedoms, irrespective of religious identity, is protected by the constitution and the state.
