Konal's musical performance at IGCC
Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising a musical evening by Somnur Monir Konal today at 6:30pm at its Gulshan premises.
Born in Dhaka, Konal has been living at Kuwait from the age of six. She learned music from her mother, a Nazrul singer. Later, she studied Indian Classical Music at All India Music Academy, an institution affiliated to Rabindra Bharati University.
In 2009, she participated in Channel- i Shera Kontho and emerged as champion in the talent hunt competition. Since then she has been performing regularly in concerts and musical programmes. Konal has been a part of many mixed albums, and in 2012 she released her first solo “Konal's Jaadu”. She is a regular playback singer as well.
