Four killed in bus-truck collision in Ctg
Four people including a woman were killed and nine others injured as a bus and truck collided head-on at Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong early today.
The deceased were identified as the bus driver Abul Kashem, 28, truck driver Obaidul Haque Pramanik, 30, bus passengers, Jorina Bagum, 52, and Nazmul Hassan, 24, reports our correspondent.
The accident took place in Shuklalhat area on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at about 6:45am, Jillur Rahim, in-charge of the Kumira Highway police outpost in Sitakunda said.
A Chittagong-bound bus from Dhaka collided head-on with a tuck coming from the opposite direction, leaving drivers of both the vehicles and a woman killed on the spot and nine others injured, he added.
Of the injured, Nazmul Hassan died while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), police said.
On information, police rushed to the spot and seized the two vehicles.
The bodies of the victims have been kept at the Kumira Highway police outpost which will be sent to the CMCH for autopsy, police said.
The injured have been taken to the local health complex and clinics for treatment.
