Fire at Bhashantek slum
A fire broke out at a slum in the capital’s Bhashantek area this evening.
On information, six units of fire fighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control 8:30pm, fire service sources said.
At least 10 shanties were gutted in the fire that originated around 8:10pm and soon spread to the others, said Hosne Ara Begum, officer-in-charge of Bhashantek Police Station.
The fire might have originated from a kitchen of a shanty, the police official said.
